    Fraser Valley Elementary

    Receives Colorado John Irwin Schools of Excellence Award

    and the Governor's Distinguished Improvement Award


    2015-16 Colorado School Performance Frameworks were released to the public this past week.  The school performance frameworks are based on FVE student academic growth and achievement on the annual PARCC/ CMAS assessments. In Reading, Writing, Math and Science.

    Fraser Valley Elementary was awarded for 2015-16

    Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award for the fourth consecutive year. 2012-2016.  The Governor’s distinguished Improvement Award is given to schools that “exceed” expectations on the indicator related to longitudinal academic growth and “meet or exceed” expectations on the indicator related to academic growth gaps.

    John Irwin School of Excellence for 2015-16.  The John Irwin awards are given to schools that demonstrate excellent academic achievement. On the three-year school performance framework that is used by the state to evaluate schools, these schools “exceed” expectations on the academic achievement indicator.

    Congratulations to all of the hard work of the teachers, students, staff and parent volunteers that have helped make these awards possible.  It is through this collaboration and hard work that our students grow and achieve at a high level.


    FVE Preschool earns highest rating by Colorado Shines

    Fraser Valley Elementary Preschool earns the highest rating 5/5 by Colorado Shines (formerly Qualistar) an external evaluation program by the Colorado Department of Human Services and Colorado Department of Education.   Out of thousands of preschools in the state, Fraser Valley Preschool is one of 18 to receive the 5/5 rating and one of only two rural preschool programs to be rated a 5.  This is a huge accomplishment and celebration for preschool director Diane Jacobsen and staff Elisa Jenkins and Denise Zander. Through their hard work we know that students are gaining a strong foundation in learning in the highest quality preschool program available.

    America Achieves selects FVE teacher for a Colorado Educator Voice Fellowship

    America Achieves selected FVES’s Cindy Rimmer, a 4th Grade teacher, for a Colorado Educator Voice Fellowship. The Colorado Educator Voice Fellowship equips top teachers and principals to tap their classroom and school expertise to have an effective seat at the table and be co-architects of state and local education policy that raises standards for teaching and learning, makes public education more equitable, and elevates the teaching profession.
